Last time Houston...

Three wonderful days in the surroundings of Houston: Galveston Island, Brazos Bend State Park and George Ranch Historical Park.

Thursday we were back in the George Brown Convention Center for Quiltfestival. A beautiful exhibition with great quilts. Even quilts from Europe: there was an exhibition with the prize winning quilts from the Open European Quilt Championship.

And very many booths: bags, jewellry, sewing machines, clothes, scissors, buttons, rulers, even massage and healthy shoes. Less fabric than we expected. Many visitors were fancy dressed because of Halloween. The atmosphere was wonderful.

In the afternoon Maaike had a book signing at The Craftsmen's Touch-books from Bemidji, Minnesota. A large booth with several authors signing their books. Maaike was sitting beneath mystery writer Clare O'Donohue and mystery writer Arlene Sachitano was sitting just around the corner.

Friday Maaike bought a lot fabric for new projects  and we visited the exhibition again.

The George Brown Convention Center is centrally located in Houston. At the backside a highway and in the front the city with the beautiful park: the Discovery Green. Houston is a nice and hospitable city.

 Have a nice day, Maaike

(time to come home, Maaike....with my book....Françoise)
